Commission to Establish the National Museum of the American Latino Act of 2003 (H.R. 3292)

A study of the feasibility of establishing a National Museum of the American Latino was referred to the House committed on October 15, 2003.

The commission will develop a plan of action for establishment and maintenance of the National Museum of the American Latino in Washington, D.C. The Museum endeavors to increase awareness in the diverse histories and cultures wrapped in the Latino community. Latin Americans are this country’s largest minority group – with 38.8million individuals - the museum would explore their contributions to the American cultural experience.

Dear Representative:
Thank you very much for your support of H.R. 3292, the Commission to Establish the National Museum of the American Latino Act of 2003.

The establishment of a museum on the culture of this country’s largest minority population will help make the understanding of our American history complete. Placing such an institution on the Mall in Washington, DC - near the National Museum of the Native American and the proposed National Museum of African American History - will increase awareness of the diversity of histories which defines this national landscape. You are helping to preserve and grow our country’s cultural heritage.

Your support and involvement is greatly appreciated.
With gratitude,
