Deaf Communities in Developing Countries: Challenges in Development Assistance
A Lecture by Dr. Amy Wilson
Professor of Education -- International Development
Gallaudet University

Dr. Wilson will discuss the relationships among poverty, disability, and development, as well as global perceptions of disability. She will recommend how development organizations can help to people with disabilities in developing countries using in an empowering and sustainable approach based on her research working with Deaf communities in Jamaica, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Brazil.
