Asia Scholars Fund
Teachers College is pleased to announce the new John Dewey Memorial Scholarship, which will provide financial aid to qualifying students from Asia.
John Dewey, one of TC’s earliest and most influential figures, was passionate
about the important role of international students and studies at TC. Thanks in
part to Dewey’s visionary leadership, TC remains committed to the educational
ideal of working together across oceans, across cultures, and above all across
disciplinary boundaries. As TC looks to its future plans to ensure the College’s
continued success throughout the 21st century, it is clear that success will
depend, in part, on increasing the number of international students we admit.
To help to accomplish this goal, through the generous financial support of TC’s
alumni and friends, we have established a John Dewey Memorial Scholarship to
encourage scholars from all of Asia to attend TC.
Many of the international students at TC will return home and apply what
they’ve learned to improve their own countries’ education systems. Those who
become government ministers, university heads, or researchers, often come full
circle, collaborating with the College professionally. International students are
a critical piece of TC’s all-encompassing approach to education that the College
is proud to support.
The John Dewey Memorial Scholarship for students from Asia will be awarded
annually based on merit. Please refer to The Office of International Student
Services and The Office of Financial Aid for more information.
