Preserve and Update Our Campus

A plan is in development for a floor-by-floor upgrade of all academic and residential buildings so that, ten years from now, the quality of the Teachers College physical plant will match the level of its academic reputation. The price tag is $300 million.

Already the College has completed millions of dollars of repairs to its historic buildings, and the plague of leaks has been staunched. Improvements to the academic campus include two rebuilt /redone floors in Thorndike Hall and expanded technology in 63 classrooms to support teaching and learning.

The first phase of the Cowin Conference Center renovation, which included rebuilding the auditorium and adding eight classrooms, is complete.  The cafeteria food-preparation area has been completely rebuilt, access for those with physical disabilities has been significantly improved, and the central utility power plant has been overhauled.
