This "webbery" is the work of Robert P. Taylor of Teachers College, Columbia University, and all its images were created by him, in connection with his participation in RIBIE 2000, in Vina del Mar, Chile, December 4 - 6, 2000. Because such participation required travel to Chile, representatives of two Argentine universities, one in Buenos Aires and one in Neuquen, approached him and together persuaded him to come early and spend three days in Argentina on the way to RIBIE, speaking with faculty and students about technology and education at these two respective universities entroute. Through 53 sketches and numerous comments and observations, SeeRIBIE reflects on the entire, 8 day, 13,000 mile trip, as a personal comment on the sort of global professional activity, including travel, that he has engaged in for more than two decades. In that respect, it is presented to encourage viewers to ponder the implications of the globalization and increased complexity that technology increasingly brings to education as we enter 2001. But it is also presented as a celebration of human life and the enrichment we all derive from the many human contacts that help define our lives.Indexes provides a wide range of approaches to the site's content. RIBIE Background comments briefly on the origin and logo of the conference. SeeRIBIE travel maps the travel reflected in the site. Encounters and events as life defining expands slightly upon a central concept behind this site. Analogous Taylor sites accesses analogous sketch-based sites. Comments provides email access to the site creator, to suggest improvements, otherwise comment upon the site, or to ask permission to download or otherwise reuse an image from this site.
