Cordoba to Santiago

Though I got a nice night view from my Cordoba hotel room of the old square and its cathedral, I did no sightseeing beyond looking out the window - it was too late when we arrived December 2 and too early when we departed next morning. The driver who took me back to the airport was very good, so I sketched him as he drove. Once on board the Lan Chile's 400 mile Flight 983 to Santiago, a crew member confirmed the redundancy of my travel the day before, acknowledging that the Lan Chile plane I had seen on the ground in Mendoza during our stop there did represent regular service beween Mendoza and Santiago, rendering a trip to Cordoba like mine completely unnecessary! Oh, well..... That morning as we crossed the Andes, we did at least get a good view of the highest peak in the Chile/Argenina section, a peak about 7000 meters high!
