Pre-RIBIE, Argentina activity Index
,
Here are five of the many people I interacted with in Argentina, from my arrival on Thursday, November 30 till departure Friday, December 3. On Thursday afternoon and evening, at Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires, I was first interviewed by journalists and then led a conferencia for students and faculty on the topic "Telecomunicaciones, globalizacion y su impacto en la educacion". On Friday morning, I flew to Neuquen and conducted a seminar that afternoon and next morning for Universidad Nacional del Comahue on "Telecomnicaciones y educacion a distancia". After the Saturday morning session, I flew to Cordoba and spent the night, in order to catch a Sunday morning flight to Santiago . The SeeRIBIE pages linked to the drawings above reflect this activity. From left to right, they are: (1) the Dean at Palermo; (2) an anonymous passenger on the flight to Neuquen; (3) the head of the Comahue department hosting the Neuquen seminar; (4) Enrique Sierra, the Comahue faculty member and Columbia University doctoral candidate who co-authored a RIBIE paper with me and diligently arranged much of both the Neuquen seminar and my travel within Argentina; and (5) the anonymous Cordoba driver of the car that returned us to the airport and the flight to Chile.
