Robert P. Taylor's: Aibonica:
Reflections on Global Education in two Puerto Rican schools

Global Education Meeting - Aibonito, 27-28 March 1998

Aibonica -- Main Page

Through 39 images and associated text referring to them individually and together, Aibonica reflects a 27 - 29 March 1998, two high school meeting on global education, held in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, involving students and teachers from both schools. The first school, where a project in global education had been underway for four years was located in Aibonito. The second, to which the project was about to be expanded, was in Guanica (see Outline map of Puerto Rico below). The site name Aibonica was formed from the first 4 letters of Aibonito and the last 4 of Guanica. The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress in the multi-media curriculum project in global education in Aibonito, and, by reflection and discussion of the review, to reinforce those about to graduate from Aibonito and give direction to those embarking on an analogous project in Guanica ( see Background on project and meeting below). This website,Aibonica was created to reflect upon the meeting for those who might be interested, especially in Aibonito and Guanica. However, in doing so, Aibonica extends work previously undertaken by the site's creator to use sketch-based websites as complimentary records of human interchange (see Related Taylor websites, below).
