Flora drawn in Bahrain - reflections of globalization

Above are the drawings of flora made during the visit to Bahrain. Almost any random collection of such subjects will reflect some trace of globalization, particularly in terms of the human tendency to transplant vegetation of every kind from one part of the world to another. In this case, even though the selection is small, that is still true. The Hollyhock and Marigold must be exotic for Bahrain, perhaps introduced by those who built and landscaped the Holiday Inn, but possibly introduced even earlier, maybe far earlier. What is unclear, is the origin of the palm trees drawn, one on the hotel grounds, one elsewhere. One would think they are long-time Bahrainian, but I am not an expert in fauna and flora in this part of the world.
