Conference Participants Drawn

Of all the participants in the conference on globalization and Arab higher education, the 18 represented in the 23 drawings thumbnailed above, were the ones I managed to draw, as they spoke, listened, ate lunch, waited to greet officials, or merely relaxed. Since I couldn't draw everyone, those who were drawn must represent not only themselves, but those undrawn as well. Like the whole body of participants, those drawn reflected different constituencies, vocations, and attitudes toward education. They also, it turns out, differed on the implications of globalization (see The globalization debate below). Some of the differences, though not all, are reflected on various pages throughout Bahrain.
