Related Taylor websites

Visiting some of the websites below can broaden the context for interpreting this one. Though each has its own distinct theme and rationale, each is related to Bahrain in that each does one or more of the following : (1) heightens awareness and understanding of the globalization of human life and the need to better reflect this in education, (2) demonstrates the importance of images as partial record of a meeting, particularly a global one, and/or (3) further clarifies the relationship between text and images in the medium of the web. SeeRIBIE, held in Chile in December 2000, and SeeTET01, in Prague, in June 2001, like Bahrain, each reflects an international meeting of experts considering globalization and the regional implications for using digital technology in education. Aibonica reflects a meeting on how globalization can best be reflected in education at the school level, if children are to be prepared for the world in which they must live. It involved school children in Puerto Rico and was held on the island, in Aibonito, in March of 1998. ArtonArt features drawings of the art of others and shows something of what art reflects about society, including globalization. Musicians uses 330 drawings of musicians making music to reflect upon musical performance. It also reflects the globalization of music in several ways. The drawings were made between January 1996 and May 2001, primarily in New York, but also in other parts of the world.
