Robert P. Taylor's Flowery: a webbery of flower images 

These two 1997 construction paper cutouts were each modeled from an iris the color of the cutout. They were done to get a feel for the Iris's very elaborate blossom different from the feel one gets drawing it. The left one was scissored free hand, while looking at a particular purple iris; the other was done by first outlining with pencil the shape of the blossom on the yellow sheet, and then cutting it out, following the pencil outline. The addition of the green background was done on the computer, after the profile had been digitized.
