Two Yellow-brown Irises, two media

Done one day apart, these two yellow brown Irises were treated as differently in terms of medium as any pair I did, producing a rather dramatic difference in result. The later one (left), was done on 12 June with one of the usual media I had been using, watercolors and pencils, after the other had been done the day before with washable markers. That marker image was done just to see what could be produced with a medium which could not yield much detail, given the elaborate detail of the typical Iris blossom. The result produced a contrast like that between a cutout and a drawing (see Cutout versus drawing below).
