Robert P. Taylor's Flowery: a webbery of flower images
Day Lilies, in parks and gardens
June and July 1997
Here are thumbnails of the six digitized images of day lilies in Flowery. The first, the red "Notorius", was done on 28 June, the rest all in July. The Day Lily grows wild in many parts of North America, but all these blossoms were found in parks and gardens in New York City, within Manhattan. All the originals were done in colored pencil, some brushed with water a bit to smooth the texture. The locale where done and some other details of each is included in the detail pages, each of which displays a pair of six-inch images representing two of the images thumbnailed above. Though the largest original was nearly 10 inches high, none of the digitized images exhibited in this site is more than 6, reflecting typical screen size and formatting limits.
