Robert P. Taylor's : Fountain: Reflections of 3 Dancing Maidens

All images

Here are thumbnails for all images of Schott's sculpture included in this site. All reflect some size modification on the computer of digitized versions of the original sketches. Some reflect more (seeDigitization and drawing below). Except for the last four thumbnails above, all are of individual maidens, are arranged by maiden, and within maiden, are arranged in order of original drawing exectution. The last four thumbnails each depict two or three maidens at once. The first of them (the rough sketch) reflects one of the earliest drawings made for Fountain, done just to get the feeling of the work. Like that rough sketch, the two following it (the two just before the last) are derived from drawings made at the fountain. The very last thumbnail is a composite, created on the computer from three earlier drawings of individual maidens (the first, fourth, and ninth thumbnails above link to those three). Creating that single composite raised such problems that no more were attempted (see Rationale for individual focus below).
