Robert P. Taylor's JuryDuty: reflections on a trial

Juror Four -- Jeannine Gruppe

Here are all four drawings of Juror Four. I tried to get at least two drawings of each juror if possible, because of my statistical view of artistic representation (see Statistical populations of images below). That view suggests that multiple images give a more revelatory picture of an individual than one alone, however good that one may be. Since, from day to day, individuals may assume different postures, adopt different hairstyles, vary in their preoccuption, interact noticably differently with others, and so on, that person's appearance can vary significantly from one day to the next. Artistic representation that depends entirely on a single image of an individual, must forfeit representing parts of that person as a full human being. Well, though I managed three drawings of one other juror, Two, and two of most of the rest, there were three I only got once: Three, Five, and the Alternate. Who gets drawn, and how often in meetings like this, remains somewhat serendipitous (for more on that, see other examples in Related Taylor websites below).
