This 10.8 cm high head was drawn at 10:45 pm, the only drawing that night. Moreover, its two nearest neighbors in time seem totally unrelated to it. Its immediate precedent (by five days) was a quite different three qurter view (inset top left) and its immediate successor (also by five days) was a profile (inset top center). Hoever, it is closely related to some other sketches (top right and bottom all), done at different times and in different moods, including the "minimal mask"( bottom right).
