R. P. Taylor - Self Portraits
Full Left Profile
Fine Point Ink Marker Drawing

This head with 9 cm high face was done at 9:30 pm on white sketch pad paper. It was followed that night by three additional drawings, - two more in marker (inset top left and center) and one in pencil (inset top right). The three were done in rapid succession, 15 minutes for the second (top left), 10 for the third (top center), and 15 for the fourth (top right), the lone pencil drawing. Most of the profiles in Reflect are left profiles like this one, so it is easy to find perspectival parallels to compare with this one. The parallels can be even more minimal or distorted than this (insets bottom left and left center), in drawings that followed this one and were attempted primaril to be minimal or distorted profiles. Or they can be less minimal (inset bottom center right) or even smooth (inset bottom far right).
