Aulos Ensemble
This sketch was drawn while the Aulos Ensembe rehearsed on 18 December 1996 for a performance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A subset of the Riverside Choir has done a joint performance with them for about a decade and so I know these players and thought sketching them would be interesting. Each instrumentalist has a quite different working posture (inset, left) and this was an effort to explore that while trying to capture their absorption in music.
