These two images are digitized from drawings done respectively on Easter Morning 4 April 1999 and Easter Morning 22 April 2000. Neither shows Anthony actually playing, probably because at the times I was not singing and was therefore free to draw, he was not playing. The timpani is a special instrument in the respect illustrated by the two drawings above - that is, the timpanist often spends much of the performance waiting for his dramatic but fleeting moment of play. I have drawn Anthony playing (inset left), albeit sketchily, and have one good drawing of another timpanist in full play (inset right), but waiting is the standard (seePercussion below).
