These three drawings of Bob were made in March (center) and July (left) of 1998, and May (right) of 1999 after he had returned to New York City from living first Montreal, Canada and then Charleston, South Carolina. The March drawing was made just after he had returned and, having rejoined the Riverside Choir, was present to sing. The second (left) drawing was done in ink during a Sunday morning service in July. The third drawing was done on the bulletin, during a service, as we waited to sing again. Bob stayed in the choir this time for about two years and then resigned, to concentrate more on composing. I had gotten to know him during his earlier stint in the choir, while he was a doctoral student in composition at Julliard.
