This was drawn 23 feb 1997, a copy I made of a portion of a Dominico Tielpolo painting of aan outdoor dance at a social event. The dancer was a central figure in a gathering of people which clearly involved the enjoyment of music and dance. Compared to some of the Jose Limon dancer images featured elsewhere in this site (insets below), the costume shown here may be strikingly different, but the posture and activity are not, Dance is the embodiment of the rhythm of music, so artists interested in may be drawn to the other as well.
