Robert P. Taylor's Musicians: Reflections of Music Making

Hope Hudson - Soprano - soloing during Christmas season, 1996 and again 1997

These two drawings were done during the Christmas season in 1996 (left image) and 1997 (right image) and present part of my collective image of her singing. As with many of the musicians in this site, the more drawings one can compare of a particular individual, the better one gets a visual image of that singer or player (see Those drawn 3 or more times below). As with every drawing done during a solo, one typically has no more than 5 minutes in which to make the drawing. One must work very fast and aim for some essence and a few details that bring it out - there's no time for more than that. An interesting note about the 1997 drawing is that it was drawn upon the bulletin for the Chrismas Eve service of lessons and carols, serendipitously, right on top of the text noting that Hope was a soloist in that service.
