This drawing of Joseph was made at 2:40pm, a few minutes before the 3pm concert.   I had heard him play a number of times before but not had a chance to draw him well, so when I found him warming up about 2:15, I asked if he might keep playing long enough for me to draw him at it. He obliged and I drew. This was done with black pencil on faintly cream drawing paper, with the tint added via the computer. Joseph is a wonderful player, and did the songs well in the concert itself a few minuets later, as David Orcutt's rapt attention suggests (inset left).
