These drawings were done over the last five years or so, since Jessica joined the Riverside Choir. She sings frequently, especially as cantor, leading the congregation in responsive singing of psalms and other meditative texts. Unlike Juan Ibarra and several others whom I have drawn multiple times, I do not often sit near Jessica. However, though that means I have little chance to draw her at rest, when she solos, she does so from a position that gives me a clear view of her, so most of my drawings of her show her actually singing.
