These two drawings depict Jessica leading the congregation in responsive singing on two different occasions. The left was executed on plain white paper, 21 February 1999, and the right, was executed directly on the grey bulletin bearing the words and music of the response, on 12 March 2000. Jessica functions as cantor very effectively and so is frequently asked to assume this role. It is an excellent chance to draw her, because she is clearly visible, not far away, and relatively stationary for the 20 to 30 seconds it takes to cant each verse. Not surprisingly, like trumpeter Brad Siroky (see Brad Three Times below) and many other musicians, Jessica assumes a relatively consistent posture across performances.
