This drawing carries little identification apart from the music itself: no date, no event, no purpose, etc. The oldest version of the file is dated 3 November 1999, so the drawing would have been executed earlier. The score fragment could be from Ralph Vaughn Williams' "Toward the Unknown Region", one of several pieces we did in a concert that fall, on October 31. Though all three "score" sketches of this alto are interesting (see insets for other two), in this one she appears far more serene than in either of the others. Perhaps the music cast a spell upon her.
