These drawings were done during a recital by Jim Byars and associated artists, in Riverside Church's Christ Chapel, on Sunday afternoon, 8 April 2001. I had drawn Jim before (inset left) but not while he was playing, so when he told me he was giving a recital in this series, I made it a point to attend and to do some drawing. Above are the results. Besides the four drawings of Jim, I did one of Joseph Rabbai, clarinetist and one of Cameron Grant, pianist, both assoicates of Jim from New York City Ballet where he has for many years played oboe and English horn.
