Robert P. Taylor's Musicians: Reflections of Music Making
Rufus Mueller, Tenor - Riverside Choir and the world
These drawings span almost 5 years, from July 1996 to April 2001. Rufus is an outstanding tenor who sings at Riverside when he is not performing as a soloist on some major program in the U.S. or abroad. His repertoire is broad, and ironically, though he is perhaps most sought after for oratorio, he is a stronger advocate for much more expressive solo singing in such works than many of those mounting productions of such traditional works are ready to accept. Rufus is a global musician who sings easily, not only in German and English, the primary languages of his childhood, but also a number of other languages. He readily adknowledges, however that his pronunciation of south German liturgical Latin may not satisfy everyone.
