This drawing was done during one of the Riverside Choir's performances of Johann Sebastian Bach's Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in the Medieval Sculpture Hall, part of their December 1996 program. This was drawn on December 19, as we warmed up in another room, preparatory to giving the second and last performance of the piece that evening. As we did so, during some couple minutes when my part was out, I quickly drew this, right on the cover of the Peters edition. We always performed this piece with a professional quintet of Baroque instrumentalists, The Aeolus Ensemble (see insets).
