    Dr. ZhaoHong Han is Professor of Language and Education in the TESOL and Applied Linguistics Department at Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Han co-directs the TCSOL Program with Dr. Lening Liu. Dr. Han’s main research includes second/foreign language acquisition and language teaching. Her research is widely published in international journals and monographs of applied linguistics and second/foreign language education.

    Dr. Lening Liu is Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures and Director of the Chinese Language Program at Columbia University. In addition, he is the Director of the Confucius Institute and serves as co-director of the TCSOL Program with Dr. Han

    Ling Yan received her Ph.D in Linguistics from the University of Kansas in 2005.  She is currently a Chinese Lecturer at Columbia University. Her research interests include syntax, prosodic-syntax, and Chinese pedagogy. She has developed textbooks, audio and video teaching materials for elementary Chinese (Approaching China) and advanced Chinese (Readings in Modern Chinese). She is a co-author of 201 Mandarin Chinese Verbs (Barron’s). She is also a co-author of Guide Book to Chinese Teacher’s Professional Skills in North America.

    Shaoyan Qi is a doctoral student in the Applied Linguistics program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She joined EALAC in the fall of 2004. Before Columbia, she taught Chinese language at several colleges and universities, including Bryn Mawr, Princeton, and Middlebury. Shaoyan Qi is the co-author of Discover China II (2012) and the sole author of Discover China III (2013). Discover China is an award-winning Chinese textbook series published by Macmillan Hong Kong. Her research interests include instructed SLA and pedagogy of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.

    Yayun Anny Sun is a doctoral student in the Applied  Linguistics program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has been teaching in the TCSOL Program for the past five years. Her primary research interest is in second language acquisition, especially input processing. Other research interests include curriculum development and teacher education.
