TR@TC Application InstructionsBefore you begin the application process, first decide which one Teachers College academic program you are applying to:
- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages K-12 (TESOL)
- Secondary Inclusive Education, Teaching Students with Disabilities 7-12 (SIE)
- Science Education -- Biology 7-12 (SCIB)
- Science Education -- Chemistry 7-12 (SCIC)
- Science Education -- Earth Science 7-12 (SCIES)
A completed application for admission includes the following items:
A Completed Teachers College Online Application: Follow the Teachers College application instructions from the Office of Admissions. On your application form, select the following as prompted, based on your academic program interest:
- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
- Secondary Inclusive Education, Teacher Students with Disabilities (SIE)
- Science Education -- Biology (SCIB)
- Science Education -- Chemistry (SCIC)
- Science Education -- Earth Science (SCIES)
Transcripts: Transcripts from academic institution(s) in the United States and Canada can be uploaded to the online application. Applicants are strongly encouraged to upload a copy of their transcript(s) to the online application. This is required from each college or university attended for academic credit for any period of time, showing all courses, grades and degrees received (if any). This includes any study-abroad programs or transfer credit not reflected on your undergraduate transcript or an academic record from your institution's Student Information System (SIS) portal. If uploading an academic record from your institution's SIS portal please be certain that it contains the institution name, course titles and grade information and any academic comments. If not, then please upload a copy of your official transcript.

Resume or Curriculum Vitae: Applicants should include a resume or curriculum vitae that includes information regarding education and employment histories, as well as other significant skills and activities.
Statement of Purpose: The statement of purpose should be 2-3 pages in length, double spaced. It should describe your academic and professional background, plans for graduate school, your professional goals, and how and why you are a good fit for the program. It should be tailored to Teachers College and your specific program of interest.
Letters of Recommendation: Applicants should arrange for two letters of recommendation that will be directly uploaded to your application profile by the recommender as part of the application process.
Two TR@TC Supplemental Essays: Two supplemental essays are part of the TR@TC2 application and will be included as part of your application.
Application Fee: Each application for admission must be accompanied by a non-refundable $65 application fee. (If you are selected for TR@TC2, the application fee will be credited to your student account.)
TR@TC2 Supplemental Interview: After the TC application and TR@TC2 supplementary materials have been reviewed, selected applicants will be contacted regarding individual and/or group interviews.
