Research interests:
Include computer-assisted treatment and assessment in aphasia, reading comprehension, and bilingualism. Dan is currently investigating the effects of text-picture integration on reading comprehension in normal adults and people with aphasia using eyetracking methods.
Marion   Leaman

Marion Leaman

Marion Leaman, MS CCC-SLP,  is a doctoral student in the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, where she is pursuing research interests in conversation-based approaches to therapy programming for people with aphasia with Lisa A. Edmonds, PhD, CCC-SLP. In addition, Marion is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Communication Disorders at Southern Connecticut State University, providing clinical instruction to graduate students in the neuro and adult speech and language clinics. She is the founder and director of a private Speech Language Pathology practice in Southport, CT, which specializes in individual and group therapy programs for adults with neurologically-based acquired communication disorders.

Current research projects:
I am currently working on two research projects. One is looking at the differences between written and spoken story retelling in healthy older adults. The second is a treatment study that aims to improve the written and spoken discourse of people with mild aphasia. Prior to returning to school to obtain a doctoral degree, I worked as a speech language pathologist with adults with acquired neurogenic disorders in a variety of healthcare settings.
