Name: Heidi Liu
Course Taught: Second Language Assessment
Degree: Ed.D. Student in Applied Linguistics (Concentration: Second Language Assessment)
Background in teaching/TESOL: I’ve had over 10 years of EFL/ESL teaching experiences in Taiwan and the U.S. My students ranged from young children, university students, and professional adults. Besides teaching, I’ve also had a variety of work experiences related to language testing, including consulting for Oxford University Press (OUP) and Second Language Testing Inc. (SLTI), and interning for Pearson and Educational Testing Service (ETS).
Favorite part of teaching in the TCP: The TCP students all come from different backgrounds; some are even experts in the fields I know nothing about. My favorite part of teaching in the TCP has to be that I get to learn from my students too.
Advice for prospective TCP students: To be a great teacher, one must always be a student.
