Need to Know: Workshops for New Teachers

Six-session workshop series @ TC


CPET New Teacher Workshops seek to support early-career teachers by establishing a community of practice in which they can reflect upon and refine the work they are doing in their classrooms. Workshops will cover a number of topics that are particularly useful to new teachers, including establishing and maintaining classroom culture and routines, lesson and unit planning, developing higher order questioning and discussion, teaching literacy in the various content areas, assessing student work, using data to inform instruction, judiciously deploying classroom management interventions, and maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

Best for: New Teachers (1-3 years of experience)
