Choose Your Path
The programs in Art & Art Education have tracks to meet you where you are. Are you a new educator? Our 40-credit Master of Arts leads to initial certification in New York State. Already certified, or interested in working outside the classroom? The 34-credit M.A., along with the 60-credit Ed.M., are designed for those who wish to strengthen their knowledge and theoretical background. Looking for more flexibility? The hybrid M.A. in Studio Practice for Art Educators combines online learning with summer residencies in NYC.

Advance Your Career
At TC, we know that education also happens beyond traditional classrooms. We see art as essential to human development, community building, and civic life. Our students are educators at all levels, across settings: in schools, museums, community sites, colleges, and more. Focus on your area of interest with optional concentrations in Museum Education, Art Pedagogy, Creative Technologies, Community Arts, or Academic Research.

Hone Your Craft
We believe that studio work is key to developing new ways of seeing, experiencing, and responding to the world around you. All of our tracks require studio classes, ranging from drawing and painting to sculpture, printmaking, and new media.

"One of the things that many art educators miss is the time and space to make art, and to get feedback on their work. These artist-to-artist interactions are an essential way to keep growing, remain motivated, and come up with new artistic challenges for yourself."
