LEARN BY DOING

At TC, knowledge meets practice. Our grads don't have to choose between becoming scholars and practitioners. Students gain an in-depth understanding as they participate in and undertake their own research, so they enter the field ready to pass along their knowledge. Our students and faculty are researching effective ways to prevent gun violence, analyzing motion in advanced labs, and studying the ways nutrition can enhance well-being. Their guiding question: what do people and their communities actually need?

BUILD A BETTER WORLD TOGETHER

Social justice is at the core of what we do, and has been a principle that's driven us since TC's founding. Under the direction of Lori Quinn, brain health fairs in nearby Washington Heights operate in partnership with community and faith leaders. Meanwhile, Sonali Rajan's research about school safety acknowledges and interrogates disparities along racial and socioeconomic lines – and how those impact school safety. TC's students and faculty lead the charge and drive change within, and outside, of their programs.
