The Ed.M. is designed to prepare students for the position of school counselor with awareness, knowledge, and skills for promoting the academic, social, postsecondary, and interpersonal development for all K-12 students. The program is designed to bring knowledge into practice through a combination of coursework, interaction with faculty and peers, and fieldwork. You’ll graduate well-prepared to advise students on major life transitions and carry out assessment, evaluation, and treatment of socio-emotional disorders and dysfunctions.

THE FLEXIBILITY YOU NEED

Looking to advance your career, find a specialization or change paths completely? Our School Counseling program is offered in an online format that combines synchronous and asynchronous modalities – often scheduled in the afternoon and evening. You’ll receive assistance securing a fieldwork placement in your area, with no obligation to relocate.

SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS

TC’s Online School Counseling program leads to initial certification in the state of NY. Requirements vary from state-to-state – we encourage you to ensure the program meets your goals. As you complete your education, you can earn two degrees simultaneously – a Masters of Arts in psychological counseling and a Master of Education in school counseling, along with an Advanced Certificate in College Advising. Students see strong fieldwork placement rates and receive 1:1 support from advisors. Generous scholarships are available for the program.
