Our program fosters skills needed to provide effective education for students with a range of learning and behavior characteristics, in a variety of educational settings (like inclusive classrooms, self-contained classrooms, and specialized schools). You’ll learn to teach students of all ages and all grades, preK-12. Equally importantly, you'll learn the building blocks of an equitable learning environment, which you can implement in the future.

With a degree from Teachers College, students will be prepared to provide individualized instruction for individuals with disabilities and collaborate with families and other members of the community, applying the highest ethical standards of the profession. Students exit the program prepared to obtain New York State certification (with reciprocity offered in many states), and fortified with student teaching experience.
