Message from Tom Rock, Vice Provost for Student Affairs

This Sunday is the NYC Pride March and there is still time to sign up with the TC "We Are Proud" Team.

Please join TC Student Affairs for this year's NYC Pride March held on Sun, June 25th! For more information and to join the Teachers College "We Are Proud" Team, please sign-up at http://bit.ly/tcpride2017 by Wednesday, June 21st.

The first March was held in 1970 and has since become an annual civil rights demonstration. Over the years, its purpose has broadened to include recognition of the fight against AIDS and to remember those we have lost to illness, violence and neglect. The March is a celebration of our lives and our community. In 2016, we were joined by over 350 unique marching contingents, representing a vast array of nonprofits, community organizations, corporate partners, small businesses, political candidates and activists! With over 80 floats making the trek down Fifth Avenue, last year’s March was one of the largest and most exciting in history. Viewing the march is free and open to the public; however, to participate you must be registered! Registration and participation is free, however, you are able to make a donation if you desire. To make a donation, please visit the NYC PrideMarch website at: https://www.nycpride.org/donate/.

Our TC Staging Area will be on 41st Street between 5th and Madison. Anyone marching must check in at this location by 2 p.m.on Sunday, June 25. We will have a meeting location at TC for those who would like to go to the staging area together. More information to come.

On behalf of TC Student Affairs, many thanks for your support. We hope to see you there! Don't forget to sign up using the link above by June 21.
