The DSS event will take place in-person in the afternoon of Thursday, April 6th, 2023 on Teachers College campus. Kendal Henry, artist, curator, cultural engineer, joins ARAD for this speaker event as the Assistant Commissioner of Public Art at the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and adjunct professor at NYU Steinhardt. This talk will help establish a definition of public art, its many components and how artists, communities, institutions and municipalities leverage it as a tool for social engagement, civic pride, and economic development.
