Job and career changes are common in today’s workplace, but this flexibility and autonomy is often paired with uncertainty and ambiguity that can make it challenging to navigate a transition. In the workshop, “Career Transitions: Making a Change That Works for You,” presented by Francine Fabricant (M.Ed. ’01), you will explore how to generate and consider career ideas, build a flexible plan for your next steps, and create opportunities that are right for you.

With an extraordinary passion for helping people make their careers work for them, Francine Fabricant, MA, EdM helps people rethink their career opportunities and build careers that are personally meaningful and rewarding. She is the lead author of the textbook Creating Career Success (2014) and a frequent speaker on career topics, addressing real-world concerns and offering practical ideas and solutions. She has served as a career counselor at Columbia University and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and is currently a lecturer at Hofstra University Continuing Education. She received a BA cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University as well as an MA in Organizational Psychology and EdM in Psychological Counseling, both from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her community-based workshops have been profiled by The New York Times.
