Dr. Erin Rivelis holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University where she teaches a course in psychoeducational assessment. She is also employed at Montefiore Medical Center where she is the Co-Director of the Rose F. Kennedy/ Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC) Child and Adolescent Unit. In this role, she provides psychoeducational evaluations and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Rivelis runs the psychology externship program on the Child and Adolescent Unit and provides consultation, teaching, and supervision to psychology externs, social work interns, medical students, and pediatric fellows. She works as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychologists, social workers, speech/language pathologists, developmental behavioral pediatricians, and psychiatrists. Dr. Rivelis also has a private practice in Manhattan, NY where she conducts psychoeducational evaluations and sees individuals and families for therapy.
Dr. Rivelis obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan. She then went on to receive her Ph.D. in the School Psychology Program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has worked in outpatient clinics, hospital settings, residential treatment centers, a juvenile detention center, and in private practice. Dr. Rivelis does both assessment as well as treatment specializing in working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities including learning disorders, language disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and cognitive impairments along with co-occurring emotional and behavioral difficulties.
