Scholarly Interests

My research focuses on topics in labor and development economics, and sits at the intersection of teachers, learners, skills, and the economy. I wrote my dissertation on "The Economics of Teacher Occupational Choice in China" (Link). Formerly, I worked for the World Bank Group as consultant on the World Development Report 2018 team, which prepared the first of the Bank's flagship publication (Link) to spotlight on education in 40 years.
