Welcome!
We’re a group of researchers and graduate students in the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. Our work applies a critical psychology perspective to theory, research, and practice in the field, with a longstanding emphasis on the interface between psychology and social marginalization, and a current focus on psychology’s early engagement with artificial intelligence. In particular, we are mapping the ways that emerging AI technologies are shaping psychological knowledge and practice, along with their broader effects on people’s lives, communities, and access to care. Our aim is to challenge taken-for-granted narratives, bring forward missing perspectives and voices, and help psychology better serve all communities. Grounded in a commitment to inclusion, we believe no one should be left on the outside when it comes to opportunity, safety, respect, or access to civic participation.
