The Latinx and Latin American Faculty Working Group at Teachers College celebrated a music performance and presentation by Juan Usera, Afro-Puerto Rican, fourth-generation Bomba practitioner (dancer, percussionist, culture bearer), college professor, and community educator based in NYC, and Anthony Carrillo, Primo drummer, master percussionist, and Moperc Artist. The introduction was by Professor Carmen M. Martínez-RoldánAssociate Professor of the Bilingual/Bicultural Education Program, Department of Arts & Humanities Teachers College, Columbia University.

We learned about a beautiful Afrolatinx musical tradition and celebrated diversity both at TC and across the Latin American and Caribbean communities around the world.
