This site documents an investigation into vehicles and transportation by Paula Rogovin’s first grade class during the 2005-06 school year. Paula began the investigation by asking the students to talk about what they already knew about cars, to generate a list of questions, and to think of ways they could answer those questions. Their questions led to explorations of tires, safety glass, and lights. Their questions about lights led to a light bulb experiment, research about Louis Latimer and Thomas Edison, and an examination of circuits. (read full overview) |
