Evalyn Edwards Milman Literacy Fellowship
Since 2012, the Evalyn Edwards Milman Fellowship has provided funds to enhance the preparation of future literacy education leaders by supporting students at the College to provide services in the College's partnership schools. Milman Fellows develop their knowledge and skills as they contribute to curriculum, teacher and student development under the mentorship of staff in the Office of School and Community Partnerships.
The Milman Fellowship is open to masters and doctoral students who are enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester for the duration of the academic year when they receive the fellowship. Preference is given to students enrolled in the literacy specialist program. Two or more recipients are selected each year by a committee formed of OSCP staff and faculty members from the Curriculum and Teaching department. The award may be renewed for more than one year.
Students who wish to be considered for a Milman Fellowship should submit a letter of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 30 of each year. Award decisions are announced during the summer for internships starting in the fall. Awards may be renewed in subsequent years, provided the recipients continue to meet the eligibility criteria and the needs of the schools where they are placed.
