Program Team

The Peace Corps Fellows Program team consists of Director Elaine Perlman and Program Assistant Alexandria Hill. With the Program Assistant's support, the Director designs and runs the Intensive Summer Institute, oversee the admissions process, host the Fellows’ monthly seminars, coordinate the mentoring program, visit Fellows in their classrooms at least twice each year and are available for individual meetings with Fellows and alumni.

A TC alumna, Elaine taught for 3 decades, including 6 years in Budapest. She advocates creating a warm classroom culture with ample room for the expression of the imagination. Elaine was a Dean, Admissions Director, mentor and school nutrition specialist. She is a middle school teacher at HEAF, Parents League advisor & painter of 4 school murals.

Benjamin  Mensah

Program Assistant

Benjamin Mensah is a master's student in the Philosophy and Education program at Teachers College. Growing up in both Ghana and New York City, Ben attended Hunter College where he triple majored in philosophy, religion and English literature. He worked at the Iola Daycare Center as a teacher’s aide and currently runs a construction business during his free time. Ben enjoys reading, walking and biking.
