RGC is a vibrant, diverse and warm community within which children inspire each other and their teachers in the daily life of the classroom.  Throughout their day, children are cared for and care for others as they grow to understand themselves and their role within their classroom community.

We welcome parent participation in the activities in the classroom and school. In the classroom, parents have cooked foods special to their family with the children, worked on classroom art projects, read books that tell the story of an important cultural event and participated in field trips.  In these ways, parents join the classroom activities inspired by the children as well as bring what is meaningful to them as a family into the classroom community for all of us to share. As a community, the parents in each classroom come to know each other as they meet at drop off/pick up and participate in community events.  In the preschool room, children often plan events that bring parents together such as shows, parties, and bake sales.

Participating in school-wide committees gives parents an opportunity to work with and get to know other families across classrooms. We greatly appreciate the dedication of our parent volunteers who help us create a supportive, caring and enriching community. Parent committees support our annual art exhibition, organize our library, help raise funds, work on a newsletter, lead workshops, and create social events for families. If you would like to participate on a particular committee, please contact the onsite associate director.

Community Corner

This is a page for RGC families to share community photos, videos and resources. When children participate in an event or project, we can share videos, photos and other digitical resources with families on this page.  Parents will also find resources shared by our parents and teachers about parenting, early childhood research and development, art and music, and kindergarten admission.

If you are a current family and would like the password to these pages, please contact our administrative assistant at
